The Adoption Process...

All of our dogs are vet checked prior to being put up for adoption. They are spayed or neutered, checked for heartworms and treated if necessary, and placed on preventative. They are also checked for parasites and all other health problems and treated if needed so we can assure a healthy, happy pet for your family. As a result of these costs, 4 the Hounds must ask for an adoption fee to help offset our expenses.

Our fee schedule is as follows:
  • Individual Dogs-$150.00 ($155.00 if paid by Pay Pal)* 
  • Bonded Pairs Adopted Together-$200.00 ($210.00 if paid by PayPal)*
       
*The additional $5.00 covers the Pay Pal fee. 

If you have viewed our dogs online and see one that you are interested in, please contact the listed foster home for more information about the dog. After you have made your decision to adopt, you can either print an adoption form from this website, or you can contact Gladys Eisenhardt, our president or Gail Sutton, our adoption coordinator and one of them will mail one to you immediately. After your application is approved, you will be notified and arrangements will then be made for you to receive your new friend.

One last thing about the adoption process--we are all volunteers with 'other jobs' outside of rescue, so if it takes a few days for us to get back to you, please be patient!  Our goal is to place the right dog with the right family, and we will take as long as necessary to ensure that our dogs are placed in loving homes!


To Relinquish a Dog...

If you find you must relinquish your dog for one reason or another, and are able to keep it until a new home can be found, we will be glad to list your dog on our website with your contact information.

If you must relinquish your dog immediately, we will be glad to place it in our foster program and find a home for it. However, because of the costs incurred in taking care of a dog while in foster care, we ask that a $50 donation be made at the time the dog is surrendered to us.
