In Loving Memory...
Winter, 2003...
With Deepest Regret, we announce the passing of our beloved Mikey, our most special boy who served us well as a constant reminder of why we do rescue. Mikey succumbed to age and related health issues, but passed away in loving arms knowing he was loved, adored, and even revered as one of the finest and best boys we'll ever know. Words cannot now nor will they ever express our sorrow at the loss of Mike.
Mike, thank you for spending your final years teaching us to be the best we can be, and for your unflagging faithfulness and devotion to us and to all who loved you.

Blossom August 4, 2004...
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our old "curmudgeon," Blossom, who succumbed to old age on August 4, 2004. Because of her neurological and orthopedic limitations, we decided that she would remain with us and so she did for the last two years of her life. She ruled the kennel and the play yard and watched carefully over the young ones as they played, and never failed to keep them in line! Every morning she would greet Gladys with a single, "ROOF!" and we knew all was right with the world.
Blossom came to us from a shelter in Oklahoma and was one of the very first rescues we took in. She was about 10-12 years old at the time, incontinent, could barely walk without collapsing, and Doc advised us to do the kind thing and send her to the bridge. Gladys refused... she saw a spark in those beautiful dark eyes that asked for a chance and sure enough, with time, and Gladys' loving care, Blossom recovered to become the lovely old lady that was hiding inside her frail little body. Also in time, she was able to regain control of her functions and was no longer incontinent. Blossom was at least 14 years old when she went to the bridge, and lived the last years of her life in comfort knowing she was loved and cherished. The kennel was suddenly silent on that day in August and we miss her ever so much.
