Many of our hounds are seniors who have been with us for a long time, or hounds with problems such as blindness, arthritis or other issues that have made them practically unadoptable. Some wonderful people have "virtually" adopted them and help us finacially with their care.
You too can become an Angel if you want to make a significant difference in the quality of life for these needy hounds but are unable to foster or relay. As an Angel, you pledge to contribute towards the care of the hound or hounds of your choice each month as long as the dog is in foster care, or for however long you wish. The amount you wish to contribute and the duration of the contribution is always completely at your discretion.
To arrange becoming an Angel, please contact Gail Sutton at 201-866-7848 or email gail@4thehounds.org
We can never have enough Angels as our medical bills are enormous. Most of us eat prescription food and take numerous medications and we really need monthly sponsors!
We get the best of all worlds at 4 The Hounds. Love and cookies never end. Unfortunately all but love takes money and that is where we always fall short.
Please, any donation amount you give is greatly appreciated and direly needed.
All donations are tax deductable and your kindness will be acknowledged here on our web site.
We would like to thank Our Angels at this time!

Amy was actually born at 4 The Hounds. Her Mommy is now living with our Vice President and Adoptions Coordinator, Gail. Amy was one of nine. All of her brothers and sisters went to new homes as she did but poor Amy wasn't as
lucky. Unfortunately, she landed in an abusive home.
She came back to us at 4 The Hounds and never wanted to leave again.
That was just fine by us. Amy is now 9.
Thank You Melissa!

Our Baby Belle, as you can see is a Dumpling! Belle came to us three
years ago as an owner turn in. Belle had mouth cancer and she still does but as you can see it does not effect her eating.
Belle is in no pain as we keep her on (very expensive) pain medication. When she came in we did not expect her to live three months and it is now three years later.
Belle is now thirteen.
Thank You Gladys!

Meet Cleo!
She is doing really great. She loves to run around, play
with toys and also loves attention. She loves
being an inside dog and loves belly rubs.
Thank You Kelly!

Cooper was in a kill shelter and had pneumonia and several other
illnesses. He was near death. We took him in with the hopes of him living but our vet wasn't too
optimistic. Once he got healthy, we came to realize he had been badly abused and did not trust anyone. We wanted to give him a chance to see how he would progress.
Cooper would not even allow us to put a collar on him. Cooper came in at the age of one, he is now six.
We have found that over the past year he is now allowing us to bathe him, put a collar on and play with him. When Gladys goes to feed him he rolls over for a belly rub and that just started in the last four weeks.
Thank You Andre!

Hi, my name is Fred.
I know I am not your normal looking basset but, hey, what is normal today in rescue?
I have a problem with my leg which is purely cosmetic, I was born this way because some backyard breeder just didn't do his or her homework.
My doctors tell the folks at 4 The Hounds my leg can't be fixed and since it causes me no pain, and I actually use it, the best thing is to leave it alone.
I don't feel sorry for myself though, I can keep up with the best of them!
Thank You Marsha!

Reily is between six and seven years old. He was found as a stray by the shelter workers. Up to date on shots and on heartworm preventative. He has been neutered. Reily loves everyone two legs and four. He has dry eye which requires a drop in both eyes twice a day. No biggy he is great about the drops and everything else. He is ready for his new home.
Thank You Marilyn!
